I'm excited to announce that we will soon be opening a second location inside of Touchet Performance Golf. This location will be opening within the next two weeks. With the opening of the new space quickly approaching I wanted to explain why we decided to move into Touchet Performance Golf and answer some common questions I have been receiving about this new space and what it means for the business moving forward.
*Below are some pictures of the new space inside Touchet Performance Golf:
The facility offers five Trackman hitting bays, a golf fitness area, treatment room, Men's and Women's locker rooms with shower and a Puttview putting green which will installed at the end of September.
Why did we decide to move into Touchet Performance Golf?
When I attended my first course through the Titleist Performance Institute I was introduced to the team approach to golf performance. There are several aspects to maximizing your performance on the golf course such as your technique, your clubs, your mental game and also your body. A golfer may work with many different professionals in each of these areas such as a swing instructor, a club fitter, a trainer /strength coach and medical professionals such as physical therapists/chiropractors, etc. Two years ago I had the opportunity to visit the Titleist Performance Institute at Oceanside, California and witness these professionals working together as a team alongside some of the best golfers in the world such as Jon Rahm. It was evident that this approach was the best way to maximize your performance on the golf course.
Around this same time I was in the process of developing my own business with a goal of eventually being able to offer a similar experience to golfers in the Fort Wayne area. This new facility will offer that opportunity with swing instruction, club fitting, golf fitness and medical services all being offered under the same roof. I am really looking forward to working alongside Eric Touchet (President of Touchet Performance Golf, Club Fitter) and Albert Jennings (Teaching Pro) inside this facility and helping golfers in the Fort Wayne area take their golf game to the next level.
What type of services will we offer at this location?
Golf Performance Assessments: This is the starting point for every new client/golfer we work with. This assessment process involves a thorough examination of your body and swing relative to your golfing goals to help identify your unique needs. *The assessment process includes: Titleist Performance Institute Screening, Functional Movement Screens, Strength/Power Testing for Golf, K-Motion 3-D Swing Analysis, BodiTrak pressure mat analysis and more
1-on-1 Golf Performance Training: following your assessment we will design an individualized training program focused on your unique needs and goals on the golf course. We offer a variety of options such as individual training sessions, training packages, monthly memberships and remote training programs (through True Coach App) depending on what makes the most sense for you.
Small Group Training (3-4 people): We also will offer semi private small group training. We will offer small group classes for middle and high school athletes and adults.
Speed and Power Classes: Almost every golfer is in pursuit of more speed and distance. These 6-8 week classes are a great opportunity to add more speed to your game. These classes are typically offered during the offseason.
Golf Mobility Classes: Drop in 50-60 minute mobility classes focused on some of the most common limitations in the body related to golf such as the spine, hips and shoulders.
Golf Physical Therapy: Our golf specialist physical therapists can help address some of the most common injuries in golf such as golf related back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain and elbow pain. *No doctor's referral is needed for these services.
Golf Performance Therapy: You don't have to be injured to benefit from our golf performance therapy. These sessions use some of our hands on manual therapy techniques combined with exercises to help address common limitations and weaknesses in the body related to the golf swing
Return to Golf Program Following Injury/Surgery: A great option to help bridge the gap between your discharge from rehab/therapy and getting back on the course. Designed to help you return to or exceed prior level of performance and safely transition back into golf. Learn more about this program here.
What ages is this appropriate for?
We will offer specialized programs for juniors, high school/college athletes, adults and seniors tailored to your unique needs and goals.
What does this mean for our current location at the WorXout?
We will continue to offer services at the WorXout. Touchet Performance Golf will now serve as our primary location for our golf related services. The WorXout will serve as the primary location for our baseball performance and rehabilitation programs and our physical therapy services for active adults. We will have designated hours at each location.
Are we still offering baseball performance and rehabilitation services?
YES. While we are making a significant investment into golf performance and rehabilitation we remain strongly committed to our baseball services and this new location will not change that in any way.
